Excuse me for the previously well known bugs that I asked, I've not searched for it,
Now I try to search the forum (about for 1 hour), but I didn't find anything,
I've installed the latest cvs version of amsn, and in the tab bar I don't see flashing o warning me the tab of my contact for a new message arriving..

Ho can I do?

Thanks in advance, and very sorry if this is another well known bug.

Alex.

It was told already in the forums, in a different problem though.

go to Tools->Preferences  then in the window that appear go to the session tab and mark 'Flicker chat window title when new message ..... bla, bla, bla' that should solve your problem.

Sorry,
it was already checked, i've tried to uncheck and save, recheck and save, but nothing, it doesn't work,
How can i do?
I use XFCE, probably is this the problem?

Thanks in advance,

Alex.

have exactly the same problem has discribed

Using 0.96B or 0.95 My msg windows don't blink!!!

I had alot of compatibility  problems with the config.xml file
after upgrade from 0.94 to 0.95

- I couldn't add or delete user ( got disconnected )
- sometimes my online list got blanked / half filled / or with wrongly status
- and more

I deleted the config.xml
and those problems got fixed.. expect the flashing window!!!

I also have a flicker window selected on the preferences

Alexandro, thanks for searching the forum before posting, it's greatly appreciated.. the answer was already given, but I'm not sure if it was on the forums or on IRC...
anyways, here's the answer :
you use XFCE, this is the problem (I guess), in latest CVS, we use a new way of flashing for a new message, we actually flash the task bar item (just like in windows), it seems only freedekstop compliant desktops are able to do it, and if you see nothing on your side, it means your xfce is buggy as it accepts the message but does nothing with it...
solution to the problem would be to do :
Code:
rm /usr/share/amsn/utils/linux/linflash/flash.so

It will fix your problem hopefully.

Weird, it should work with XFCE. I don't know.

If you had 'make install' the previous time, you must repeat it now. Or run ./amsn from the directory where you ran 'make' (./amsn not amsn)

Buggy desktops... Thanx for reporting billiob! Is there a way to detect this within tk or do we have to FAQ it?

We should add that to the poweruser plugin.
It's in my TODO for this WE.
