Hello

I don't know if there is a bug with the latest release on the module to check for new version... every time that I start aMSN it shows a popup advising that there is a new version 0.98.9 and to update, but I ALREADY UPDATED one week ago... I removed and reinstalled aMSN but it keeps throwing that message... how can I turn it off? it is very annoying... I have not tested under Linux yet, but at least it is on Windows 7...

Thanks

Yeah, this happens with my aMSN too. Sometimes when I sign in it notifies about an update and that 0.98.9 version is available but I already have it. It also happens every single time if I press "Check for updates" in the aMSN login screen.
My operating system is Windows XP Professional.

Hi,

rcversion has been set to 0.98.09 in the Release, so it's smaller than 0.98.9 from http://www.amsn-project.net/amsn_latest

Update:
this worked perfectly with 0.98.4, where rcversion was 0.98.04 and amsn_latest was 0.98.4;
The problem is octal interpretation (see here), so it will fail with .08 and .09 .

for the future we could change autoupdate.tcl from line 554
Code:
if {[scan [lindex $lastver $x] %d] > [scan [lindex $yourver $x] %d]} {
set newer 1
  break
} elseif {[scan [lindex $lastver $x] %d] < [scan [lindex $yourver $x] %d]} {

Modify the amsn file in the scripts folder, or replace with this

http://www.mediafire.com/?tia0ci1ptluipjk

It has the same number of the previous URL and voilá, up-to-date  Grin

I installed aMSN 0.98.9 into my new computer with Windows 7. The problem is gone.
