The Growl team have released a new (payed) update of Growl, version 1.3.1
It's only available on Lion via the Mac App Store.

This new version doesn't work well together with the aMSN plugin (http://www.amsn-project.net/plugins.php#9)
It does not display any notifications trough Growl. The only workaround to get notifications back working, is by disabling the Growl-plugin (which will enable the default aMSN notification system again).

Since the plugin appears to be relatively simple, could someone update it? The default notification system of aMSN is unnecessary big and annoying.

Is anyone planning to update the Growl-plugin to work with the new Growl v1.3.1 ?

Hi and sorry for not answering earlier.
The plugin itself it really simple, but the problem is that it's *that* simple because it was just including another package (binding) that was using Growl. Since 1.3, Grown dropped support for TCL (and a few more languages) and nobody rewrote the bindings that we were using.
I'm sorry to tell you that Growl plugin won't come back any time soon (unless some dev with some free time want's to send me patches).

Thanks for the honoust answer, I understand that devs have obviously also free time and work in "real life". I would have tried it myself, but I'm afraid that I am not a dev (don't have prog. skills).

Check out the TclGrowl package at http://www.codebykevin.com/opensource/oss.html (scroll down the page a little bit) and see if that might work. It should be as simply as mapping the commands from the old Growl code to the new version: I don't think the commands are quite a drop-in replacement, but as the new version uses AppleScript and is works fine with the new version of Growl, it should work for aMSN. I will be glad to test a version that incorporates this code, although I don't have time to submit a patch myself.

Thank you for searching this! I'm currently *really* busy, but this shouldn't be too hard to implement so please ping me in around 10 days.
