New installation of aMSN 0.98.4 on a newly installed Windows 7 (new PC). Fails to log in, it just stays eternally in the "Logging in..." phase.

The problem persists even with the software firewall turned completely off. The standard MS WLM client works normally.

I have the same Mangongo's problem (or at least the "protocol_log.txt" of Mangongo is exactly equal to what appears to me) but in my case I use Windows XP Service Pack 3 and usually I have do 2 or 3 attempts before accessing on my account or if I can not enter after several attempts (which would be around 10 or 20) then works for me restart the program and try again. Anyway I am thinking trying the development version (SVN version) of the program to see if this problem persists or if it already resolved.
By the way, perhaps we are the uniques with this problem?

Incidentally, I can login just fine with aMSN 0.98.4 on GNU/Linux... it only fails on Windows.

Hi, i been suffering the same kind of problems from some time ago, i fix the problem going into "preferences", "connection" and changing settings to "http connection mode in 80 port" , tried in 0.98.4 and 0.99b just downloaded a few minutes ago, and work in both versions.

I hope this can help people with same problem, if someone fix this way and can tell us, was a great help Smiley

I use this fix in Win xp , someone can try in Win 7?

I have been testing the version 0.99b (SVN version 12326) for some days and the problem persists just as I was in the "stable" version of the program. The ArkanHell solution seems to work but still I have not tested much.

Yeah, you're not the only one. I could never get it working on Win 7 64bit either, it just "hangs" on login. No-one seems to have an answer. I reverted to 0.98.3 and I've had no problems since.
