.CAM and .DAT FILES for webcam sessions?

hi i found the files of my webcam sessions in the library folder. now theese files are stored as 1 .cam file and one .dat file for each contact. Now if i try and play the .cam file using vlc player it doesn't play all of the webcam sessions i have with this contact, and also if i try and skip to a certain part it freezes and stops playing.
i tried to convert both .dat file and .cam files to .mp4 but both failed and i got the message could not detect video stream.
i am wondering if i have to combine theese two files in someway to make it a proper video file?
any help apprecated

You should read the FAQ section and search this forum before posting but, anyway, here are the answers:
http://www.amsn-project.net/wiki/FAQ#How_can_I_browse_through_my_webcam_logs_and_convert_the_.cam_.28cam_recordings.29_to_a_movie_file_such_as_.mpeg.3F
and
http://www.amsn-project.net/forums/index.php?topic=944.0
And you can always ask google for some answers.

thanks those links are almost completely useless! the faq basically says you can't do it, and your other link is for software that is for windows xp, did you not realise this was the support for mac section of the forum? for your information i had a browse of the faq, a search on google and i did use the search function but found nothing of relevance. Maybe in future before replying to a post by someone asking for help, you should engage your brain and ask yourself A. is this post going to be relevant or helpful in anyway whatsoever? and B. am i being a dick? In your case you would answer no, not even a llittle bit to A. and yes big time for B.
