problem adding contacts

y have 2 problems: when i add a contact to my list, the notification for aceptation does not appear in the other computer and i see the contact is offline. The only way to it works is that BOTH adds to the other. Why?
I am using Win XP sp3 and Amsn 0.98.1 but tried with 0.98 .3 and the problem is the same.

The other problem is that i added a lot of contacts with amsn and if i log with Windows live messenger the contacts does not appear. if i try to add them again, "the contactes already exist" but cant see them. Why?

I have the same first problem you spoke about. When adding a contact, that one sees me offline. I don't know if it would be the same thing if a contact adds me, but it's sure that it is not the first time contacts say me that I appear offline. Why these problems of appearing offline to some contacts?

The problem of adding contacts also persits in my latest amsn version (0.99b SVN: 12199). It is a very bad issue, because contacts that add me think I'm offline, and I don't receive the window notification yet...

I'm having this problem as well, and it sometimes work when we both add each other, and sometimes not... The problem is, some people I can add without any hassle, others only work after some work, and others don't work at all... Might it be related to the other persons' client?
