Hey, Is there a command to disable this feature. It would be easyer then removing it from the code because it no longer works.
It says every one on my list has deleted me and I know for sure they haven't because 2 of them are my other msn accounts which I can be signed into and see my self online and not deleted.

Thanks.

no, there is (was) no option.. but it was easy enough and considering how many have this issue, I decided to add it.. update your SVN to r11730 and you'll find it (last option in advanced preferences under the appearance section)

Well, I'm quite a beginner and I tried to install this SVN-thing as I've been told, but an error occured and told me: "Access denied", so SVN is not working for me. I found another method, tried to download your (kakaroto's) guicontactlist.tcl file itself (Revision 11730), but it doesn't work either.  Huh I downloaded it into the amsn/scripts folder, but nothing happened. There was no option to make the X-es disappear.
So I don't know what I'm supposed to do, but I know that those little X-es are annoying me very much, so please, let me know if you have a solution.

Thanks a lot!

Hi dexcode,

as you can see here, you would have to replace at least config.tcl, guicontactlist.tcl and langen to be able to set this within the configuration...

if you want to retry using SVN read this
and if the error shows up again, tell us with system you are running and when the error occurs.

hope that helps

BW thanks very much for your help, it solved the problem. However I could not overwrite the langen file because I have no idea what type of file is that, and when I wanted to download it, it was just opened as a text, but it works now without overwritning.  Smiley The X-es are disappeared, so thank you again!

By the way, this SVN-site was that I read, and the error occured when I tried to download the updates. For some reason my system denied access to the folder "Program Files", however I even turned my firewall off. I have Windows 7 o.s.

You should run the svn app as administrator in order to be able to write to program files

You should have saved the file somewhere else (the desktop) then after extracting, move it to program files, then it would say 'access denied' and there should be an option to 'try as administrator' or 'continue' with that yellow shield sign next to it.. or something like that.

p.s: maybe the wiki should be updated to reflect the how to for the windows vista/7 users because of this permission thing..

The default in previous versions was to display a red X when someone didn't have you on their list. When I upgraded to 0.98.3 this is no longer the default, can you please change it back so that the red X is the default option??

I was able to turn it back on(last option in advanced preferences under the appearance section), I was just asking could this be ticked by default to match the behaviour in previous versions of aMSN.

Hi buggami,

I think alexandernst wanted to refer to this topic
in short:
due to changes on Microsoft's side, this feature doesn't work any more,
therefore it was disabled by default

Hi guys,

I just played with
Code:
::MSN::addUserToList contacts@email.address RL
it seems like we still get the information that someone removed us
the problem is, there is no information when we are added...

so this feature might still work, when the user explicitly adds the contact to the RL

or does it influence anything else, if a contact is add to the RL while it's shouldn't be in there...
