Hi everyone,

I am creating this topic in order for you to post your skin preferences from the poll on the main page. If your favorite skin wasn't listed, this is the place to post it. If it was listed but you still have something more to say, feel free to express yourself.

Have fun!

Just registered to show my big thumbs up for da COLD skin ! yes indeed !

It's not really 'cold' to me, it's design stuff - simple, beautiful, clean, easy... just what I like.

Cheers

I think it would be a good idea to include to include one theme for each operating system aMSN can run on.

For example
  • a Windows Live theme (for windows users or people who like that stuff)
  • Linux Themes, such as the gnome theme (for gnome users) and the oxygen theme (for KDE users)
  • a Mac theme, such as the Cold theme or aMSN for Mac theme
  • etc.

That way aMSN can be sleek on all OS's and there's a nice default selection, without the need to look around for themes.

Short after I started using AMSN ( 0.95 ? ) as a good alternative to the ever-crashing MSN 6.2 on a Win98 laptop more than five years ago, I found the Unified skin and modified it a little so the contact list only uses 4 mm of vertical space per contact. Very easy with long friend lists and the display set to "email address" instead of the never readable nicknames.

So many unusable Live Messenger versions later I still use the same skin in the latest AMSN update. Good Luck !

There is mainly one perfect skin, the one that takes the look of its native OS look, like/example:
*in Linux with Gnome takes the theme from Gnome Theme/Appearance Preferences.
*in ms Windows from the current theme ( or could chose one from a win theme file).

So that it will get your fav. look from your setup from your OS, and if u change ur OS skinn the aMSN skinn would autoapply the new skinn aswell.
(ofcorse it need tuches, like people could make settle changes like choosing options for theme to be loaded or re applyed in aMSN)
It's for the future cos it needs a seperate plugin, but yeah this is one of the best i could come up with.
If someone wanna start someting like that up let me know, i would gladly partisipate, i know a little of some simpler codeing, some like PHP and some styleing ones too. Have lots of ideas how to use or solve some problems or just how it could work easyly.

Otherways a minimalistic, but nice looking (not only boxes Sad) & smooth, should be the best for now untill that, or similar to that would come to be in the existance.
