I've been having the same problem as a number of people where the nick is not picked up correctly due to server changes.

This is a fairly basic plugin that offers the suggested functionality of setting the nick each time you login.

This is my first amsn plugin so it would be nice to have someone check it.  The only testing has been with 0.98.1 on linux, I would imagine that required version number can probably be lowered but I don't have old versions installed to test with and I see no reasons why it shouldn't work on all platforms.

Instructions
1) Download from: http://www.mediafire.com/file/hz3xwlcmzt2/autonick.zip
2) Unzip in plugins directory
3) Load the plugin
4) Click configure and enter the nick you want

Sorry for the dupe if this has already been done but I could only see discussion and no actual plugin.

Hey! No problem! I was talking about to create that plugin, but the university is an "demanding mistress" xD. In the lastest SVN Development Version, the problem was solved. Anyway, that plugin is great for users who only have the normal aMSN 0.98.1.
I was testing it and it works great! Good Job Smiley.

This plugin is perfect for solving my problem and many users with the nick.

I am a developer of PSP but I never tried to develop a plugin for aMSN, maybe someday I anime.

PD: Sorry my bad English, I am Spanish.

Thank you very much for the plugin is perfect  Wink  Wink

yep, setting PSM would be nice too with a checkbox "store on roaming server". I know it can be useful (and I wanted to write it some day).. for example, have the plugin force the PSM to "@home" on your home computer, or "@work" at your work computer or "on N900" on your N900.. and not update the roaming server with that @home/@work psm.
