I've just upgraded aMSN to version 0.98.1 and the default skin's contact list background color changed from this to a blinding white. I couldn't find any options to change it back.

Hi and welcome to the forums. The background was removed because it makes aMSN runs slow Sad . However, you can try to download this http://amsn.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/amsn/trunk/amsn/skins/default.tar.gz?view=tar&pathrev=11459 That is the last version of the Skin before we changed it.

Untar it (with WinRAR in Windows) and go to the aMSN installation folder
- Windows: C:\Program Files\amsn\Scripts\skins\ (or something like that, Mac OS X user, sorry)
- Mac OS X: /Applications/aMSN.app/Content/Resources/Scripts/skins
- Linux: I can't remember it lol

Back up your old "default" skin and copy the new folder you've downloaded.

I hope it can help you =) Good luck!

--- updated link, I put the link for pixmaps before, now the link download the skin Smiley

because the skin have no option
if you want to change the background color you can open setting.xml inside the default skin folder with notepad, then you look for
<ContactList>
          <Colors>
         <mainwindowbg>#efefef</mainwindowbg>
         <topcontactlistbg>#ffffff</topcontactlistbg>   <!-- color for the top of the contact list, the status part -->
         <contactlistbg>#ffffff</contactlistbg>   <!-- color of the contact list, where the contacts appear -->

and here you can change #efefef #ffffff etc. with what you want

here some examples of code you have to use http://www.w3schools.com/HTML/html_colornames.asp

Thanks for the fast replies, folks! I went with asdolo's solution because it was simpler and didn't require messing with skin versions. Actually, it's so simple that it could easily become an option in aMSN. Smiley
