Hi, welcome tot he forums,
so.. what are we supposed to see in there ? I don't get it... is it supposed to be the image of an abstract art painting ? or is it supposed to be a valid animated gif and the images overlap ?
could you make sure you use the latest SVN version (revision 11696) and recompile amsn ?

ehm..

i have amsn 0.98 svn version 11683 because i have the ppa repository..

however, this error ther is when I added this emoticon and some other .. I do not know if it depends on some distraction from svn ..

it's an error that there is on some emoticons .. the other is ok.

the pictures that I have uploaded are screenshot of how it is displayed emoticons ..

it's not an image of an abstract art painting, but appears as a gif with "noise" ..

Excuse me if I can not explain myself very well ..

Let me know if I can do some tests to help your development.

Hi, I see, your english is not very good (sorry) so it's hard for me to understand.. when I said "is it an abstract art painting", I meant to say that I see the screenshot, but I don't know what the image should be like, so I don't see the "problem".. Could you upload the original gif image please so we can have a look and see if we can reproduce and fix it.
Thanks.

So, st4nny.
The best way to help the developers of aMSN is, when you give so many information about your problem, how you able to do.

Maybe you upload the gif-Images, you added to aMSN, here in this thread, so for example, I can add them in my aMSN too, and look if there is any problem with SVN-Version 11704 and Mac OS X.

Then maybe you take some screenshots of your problem in higher resolution, so that everybody is able to realize something, because your pictures in post number one are like a puzzle.

the gif in question is this..

with live messenger.. aren't problems of visualization..

I saved the gif from a contact who sent me the gif .. and I could see well the emoticon.

When I'm going to send it back .. displays with the noise ..

amsn does this with other emoticons, not with all ehh..

thanks for the support

Okay, I added the gif into my aMSN and now I understand your problem.
The gif-Image was not displayed in the way, how it should be. The animation slows down and overlaps.

So the problem appears also on Mac OS X and the newest SVN-Version.

Hi,
Thank you st4nny, it has now been fixed in SVN. The problem wasn't with reading the gif file, it was with saving it (we copy the file to ~/.amsn/<email>/smileys, so if you delete the original file, your smiley is saved).
Update to SVN, and it will work fine.. BUT you'll have to readd the file (so it copies it again correctly)

It still fails in svn 11709 using that gif as displaypic. It works if I copy and rename the image to ~/.amsn/email/displaypic/exampleg.png and then select it.

rubioxtu: like I said, you'd need to delete that display picture and readd it.

Hi kakaroto, that's what I did, it works adding that image as a smily, but results into a corrupted copy when I add it as a displaypic, even if I delete and readd the image. Sorry for my English.
