I suppose you can display those who appear as offline with chosen colour in the contact list. I found a key called <contact_appearoff> from my settings.xml -file. I haven't tested it because I don't really care if someone appears as offline to me, to be honest.

Hi sulsl, welcome to the forums
i've split your post from the other thread as it was unrelated...
anyways, there is no way to see if someone blocked you or is appearing offline, that's the whole purpose of the feature, as much as you don't want others to see when you appear offline...  there are some very tricky and very not-really-working tricks but most of the time it's very complicated and completely useless
noone will ever do a plugin like that for amsn... you can search the forums for old threads about a similar subject, it has been discussed quite a few times...

kakaroto thanks a lot, but i asked about this because sometimes i log as apearoffline and waiting for someone, and after hours i realize that he is appearingoffline waiting for me :S so the best way if i have some way to know when they log in.

you are the admin you know what better to do, but i think this way you are saving time because any one asking about this will find a place for it Cheesy

Hi,
that contact_appearoff in the settings.xml is just how you would like your own nickname/psm to appear in the top of the contact list when YOU are appearing offline...
and sulsl, I understand your issue, but unfortunately there's nothng we can do, as I explained the whole purpose of appearing offline is that noone knows you are online, if there was any way to find whether someone is appearing offline, it would defeat the purpose of that feature, so there is no way to check... the servers are the one implementing this and they can only tell us that a user is offline, not appearing offline... so there's nothing we can do...
What you could do instead to avoid this problem you're having is to send an offline message to your friend "hey, i'm appearing offline, waiting for you, message me when you're online", this way they will receive and read that message even if they are appearing offline, then they can start a chat with you when they connect, and vice versa (one of you has to go online though in order to be able to create a chat, otherwise you'll only be sending each other offline message which takes a bit of time to reach the other end and there's no guarantee on the order of the messages).
I hope that helps!
