When the developers will release a Beta version of Amsn2, and when it will be available in the repositories of the major Linux distributions.

like we said thousands of time : STOP ASKING THAT QUESTION! It will be ready when it will be, just asking will only annoy us more than anything else... if you want to speed up the process, clone the git repository and start patching it up until it's usable. If you can't code on it yourself, then be patient like everybody else.

I think it will be great to update the website ....
Forum is really useful for reactive question but when someone go on the website and see the last update he will think that the project is dead...
Some news (maybe some screenshot of the new version or something else) will keep peple interest on amsn.
I've some experience on xhtml, php and css if i can help ...

well, we created http://amsn-project.net/blog for blogging news (although I think blog posts should instead be news item in the front page...) but the only thing remaining is to actually write stuff regularly... about 0.98, it's been released 2 or 3 weeks ago, but we've had issues in creating the binary installers for everyone, that's why we've been holding off on notifying everyone that a new version is available and posting news about it... I'm also thinking that we might just skip 0.98 and release 0.98.1 directly since 0.98 seems to have ugly bugs that we've fixed in SVN... and yeah, we should discuss 0.98 in another topic!

If the question is being asked "A THOUSAND TIMES" then do something about it... each person who has posted can be multiplied by 10 to see the number of people actually asking the same question.
I tried to find info on this but see nothing but a one sentence blurb on the wiki which links to the project page, nothing on the amsn mainpage, no forum sticky accept a big announcement posted Thu Jun 12, 2008... it is now basicly january 2010 and the post doesn't say anything about a release date or delay in release, in fact the post leads me to think it has been released

there cannot be a "delay in release" if there was no release date, EVER.. so a delay in "in a few years" will still be "in a few years", why complain ? The only thing you can do on amsn2 is to help us by contributing, and there is enough information about that in the forums already.
