Hi dear windows friends.. I need your help on something, could you please test something out... I want to know if the webcam capture stuff still works with gstreamer... mainly, open the audio/video assistant, check if the webcam works, go to the farsght test stuff.. test it all out, (make sure you try dshowaudiosrc and dshowvideosrc), then finish the assistant, then retry it and see if capturing the webcam still works (the first step of the assistant, not the webcam test using gstreamer).. try it a few more times and tell me if for some reason it bugs, shows a black screen, etc.. when you try that!

Alright, I've done my tests with my copy on my computer. I've noticed a few things. First: I've noticed that when selecting the DirectX Screen Capture option for Farsight, my display works (as in I can still read it fine), but it flickers periodically from things such as Winamp or aMSN popups until I select a different video source for Farsight...? Not sure if that is supposed to happen or not. (this happens all the time, not just when I go through the Assistant, save, and then go back through)
Second: I noticed the second time I went back through the assistant, when I reached the Farsight sound settings, where is defaulted to my mic and speakers like it should the first time around....the second time, it just gave me a tone while still reading the same settings that I didn't change (i.e. - automaticsrc and automaticsink.....in fact I am typing this as I do it and it's pretty much giving me a tone for most of the options at this point)
Third: Same thing with the webcam. The first time around, without changing the settings, automaticsrc picked up my webcam, the second time around, instead of my webcam, automaticsrc picked up the option that displays the static and color bars (switching to directshow and video source also gave the bars/static rather than my webcam, although the two screen capture ones still displayed my screen)
