Hi,

it's not possible to send winks from original WLM 2009 client to aMSN client. The winks button in the conversation window of WLM 2009 is greyed out. May be, it's a matter of the protocol. Is there a solution for this?

I'm german, sorry for my poor english.

Hi, welcome to the forums,
All you need to do is to enable the 'winks' plugin from the account menu->select plugins.
Please read the README file that comes with the plugin if you want to make it work.

Hi, welcome to the forums,

The plugin is enabled and works perfectly but only with WLM clients until version 2008. The WLM 2009 clients of my contacts (winks button is greyed out) can't send winks to my aMSN client. Otherwise it works. I can send winks to any MSN clients. The functionality is a matter of the version of the original WLM client of my contact. Since WLM 2009 the winks plugin only works one way, only from me to my contact because my contact's original Windows Live Messenger 2009 checks the client version of mine and accepts only original Windows Live Messenger clients for sending winks.

I forgot to tell my aMSN version: 0.98b SVN-version 11180

no matter of OS, on Debian sid it's the same as on Win XP or Win 7

hi again.. now this is interesting... I tested it and you're right... there's a bug in the plugin, solution is simple :
disable the plugin, reenable it, then change your status to something different than what you currently have (like from away to online then back to away), the winks button will become available in WLM 2009...
Thanks for reporting.. we'll fix it!

You're welcome! Thanks for reporting!
Anyways, update your SVN, it's now fixed in SVN revision 11206... so it should just work...
thx again
