There's a better way to do this. You just need to start firefox and type about:config in the address bar. Then search for general.useragent.locale and set its value to it-IT Now every app that calls firefox should launch it in italian, there's no need to add the locale flag to its command!

@ Montblanc In my install of firefox those variable is already setted, but I have the same issue. The only way to avoid the issue is to set the locale launching firefox

In my install first of all I had xdg-open and firefox setted with the variable that Montblanc was describing, but no way kakaroto, the only working option is to use -UILocale launching firefox Actually i don' t have any other application that needs to launch Firefox from inside itself.

The same for me, only works with that option in amsn. I thought it was a bug specifically from kubuntu (kde) with firefox but I think I was wrong.

Well, guys... I have to say aMSN launches firefox in the language I set in about:config, in my case. The same with Swiftweaweasel and other Firefox based browsers.
