Problems changing my picture display on amsn

I am new here

I'm a Linux user and I'm using the latest version of aMSN, but recently it has been giving me problems I can't change my picture display and I everytime I do that it automatically logs me out of my computer section. Most of the times it does not play the sounds when people talk to me or when I receive an e-mail.

How can I sort this problem out?

The logs out problem when chaning the DP has to do with compiz. Try disabling the extra graphics (disable compiz) and see if it works then.

The sounds problem is a different issue, you may not have configured everything correctly.

Thank you trv for your advice on disabling compiz . Now I can change the DP with no problems and this also fixed the sound problem (in fact the system sound was/and still is ok)
