Hi leemondthefirst, welcome to the forums!
Did you change anything in amsn since it stopped working?  and which SVN version are you using (help->about)? Could you also try without using a proxy? And yes, both status log and protocol log would be helpful, and yes, you can censor the email addresses (if different emails are in there, please make them noticable.. like "email1@x", "email2@x", "myemail@x" ...).
Thanks!

Thanks Kakaroto.

Nothing changed in aMSN, I came in to work one morning after using it fine the day before, and had this issue.  It's difficult to try without a proxy, as it on my iMac at work, and we need the proxy to gain access to the internet.  It's possible that this could be the problem, but I have no problem signing into my account, only sending messages.

I am using: aMSN 0.98b (12/25/2007), SVN Version 10796, on an Intel iMac, OS X 10.5.5.

Status Log is as follows:

For the logs, I did the following: Signed in, Opened and cleared both Logs.  Opened a chat window with user1@email1.com.au, tried typing a message, waited for it to say that the message couldn't be delivered, then closed the chat window and saved the log files.  If you need any further details, let me know.  Thanks for the help.

EDIT:
I changed the connection to use HTTP on 80.  When I clicked 'Save' an error came up asking me to report it.  This happens often when I click save in the preferences page.  When trying to sign in now in I get "Error Connecting to server: connection refused".  I then changed the connection to Direct Connection on 1863, this gave the same connection error.  I am using Authoxy to log into the Proxy.

humm... that's interesting.. maybe your work changed something on the proxy that prevents it from working... well, from what the log says, it looks like you were not connected... or actually, you get no response.. could you check that you were still online by trying to change your nickname or status and see if the change is accepted? maybe you get quickly disconnected and amsn doesn't notice the disconnection...  apart from that, it's weird, because all we do is request a switchboard and we get no response... i don't see any reason for that...
I'd like to see what error comes up when you try to save.. I don't have any problems, so click on the 'details' button and paste here the details of that bug report, so we can try to fix it. the connection refused might be normal if no outgoing connection is allowed without using the proxy (not even http connections).

Ok.  Still no joy with the messaging, I can still go online and receive messages, I just can't send them.  I tried to change my name and status, but they didn;t change in the main window.  I still appeared online though, and can see people go on and offline.

For the 'Save' errors in Preferences, the following are the details of the last error.  I changed the proxy details and clicked 'Save'.

can not find channel named "sock13"

"fconfigure $sk -sockname"

    ("uplevel" body line 1)
    invoked from within
"uplevel #0 [list $w invoke]"
    (procedure "tk::ButtonUp" line 23)
    invoked from within
"tk::ButtonUp .cfg.buttons.save"
    (command bound to event)

Hi, just want to let you know that there was a bug where users could not send messages when using an HTTP proxy or gateway, this is fixed now in the SVN version of amsn..
also, that last bug reported by lemondthefirst should also be fixed in SVN now..
