Thanks Kakaroto.
Nothing changed in aMSN, I came in to work one morning after using it fine the day before, and had this issue. It's difficult to try without a proxy, as it on my iMac at work, and we need the proxy to gain access to the internet. It's possible that this could be the problem, but I have no problem signing into my account, only sending messages.
I am using: aMSN 0.98b (12/25/2007), SVN Version 10796, on an Intel iMac, OS X 10.5.5.

For the logs, I did the following: Signed in, Opened and cleared both Logs. Opened a chat window with
user1@email1.com.au, tried typing a message, waited for it to say that the message couldn't be delivered, then closed the chat window and saved the log files. If you need any further details, let me know. Thanks for the help.
EDIT:
I changed the connection to use HTTP on 80. When I clicked 'Save' an error came up asking me to report it. This happens often when I click save in the preferences page. When trying to sign in now in I get "Error Connecting to server: connection refused". I then changed the connection to Direct Connection on 1863, this gave the same connection error. I am using Authoxy to log into the Proxy.
