Hi. I am running Ubuntu 7.10 and installed Amsn through the package installer.

Amsn had been working fine for months until a few days ago when it just 'hung up' on the logging in screen. The bar that goes from side to side is still moving but that is all that happens.

I had problems in the past with the connection and it is set to the HTTP (port 80) method but I don't think that is the problem.

Can anyone help please?

Cheers,

Chris

Can you post your protocol and status logs here please. Please Ctrl-S and ctrl-D from the main window.
Thanks.

(other people seem to be reporting similar problems, and I'm starting to seriously consider that MSN is having some troubles with their servers (for the older protocols).
You can also try the SVN version which uses the newer protocol and shouldn't have those problems (if my assumption is right) : http://amsn-project.net/wiki/SVN

When installing aMSN from SVN (actually, when I "./configure" and "make" the amsn_dev.tar.gz), I get this error:

Quote
 CC     utils/linux/capture/libng/plugins/conv-mjpeg.o
  LD     utils/linux/capture/libng/plugins/conv-mjpeg.so
  CC     utils/linux/capture/libng/plugins/sn9c10x.o

utils/tclISF/src/tclISF.c:267: internal error expected ‘)’ before ‘*’ token
make: *** [utils/tclISF/src/tclISF.o] Error 1

aMSN does start up, but it will not set my nick (error is created), and it will not load my contactlist.

You should no longer have utils/tclISF/src/tclISF.c but utils/tclISF/src/tclISF.cpp .
it should have been removed with rev 10082.

hmmm, weird... I had them both (even after "make clean" )
I removed the .c manually, compiled again, and everything works just fine Cheesy
Merci beaucoup !
