Just a small feature request..

When you go at Help -> About, can't it say somewhere the r9850 or something, the svn revision? With tiny letters etc.. It sure will be helpfull for users that report that are using svn but dont know the exact version, or just for fun Smiley

G'day Kakaroto, other devs and fellow aMSN users,

Been reading this boards (and using aMSN) for around 2ish months now ever since ditching pidgin for its lousy msn support (great multiprotocol client tho).

I would like this feature as it makes the about page look nicer and allows me to accurately check my version. I check the SVN commits daily and usually update my version every few days.

Keep up the good work.

BTW - when is the next release? I was originally very unhappy with the original release and could not update via SVN due to not being able to get TCL/TK 8.5 to work with Fedora 8. After installing Fedora Rawhide I could then install SVN and immediately noticed a huge difference. Things seem pretty solid at the moment and users of the latest 'stable' release are missing heaps of new and top notch code. Remember the open source methodology of release early & release often Wink

Hi all,

before switching to svn, I used the SVN Snapshot from the website
and I didn't find an easy way to get the revision number there,
so it would be quite useful for this case I think

bye

With your contact list open, press CTRL + S. When the window opens, there's a box you can type in, type set ::Version::amsn_revision and hit enter. This will give you the svn version. Although, the idea of it being in the about dialog makes it faster to get.

The '::Version::amsn_revision' system used to display the revision
only works for tcl-files and only if it's integrated in the file

so it displays the last revision in which one of these tcl-files has changed

thx BW, indeed, that's how it works.
revision 10082 only changed C files, and revision 10083 changed a plugin.
