For those using Ubuntu Hardy (8.04), just do the last update. There's a new version of gdm that fix the crash when you click em "Change Picture" or whatever is the translation. So, it's gdm fault, I guess.
gdm new version: 2.20.6
There was a xserver file updated too, but I can't remember the name to tell you the version.

Peace, bros! Cheesy

I am not sure, I just updated to 2.22.2 and the crash still happens. Kakaroto http://www.amsn-project.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5389, mention a bug in compiz when its on. Didn't tried yet but as soon as I finish with other issues will start that one.

Peace to you too!

Yes, I was wrong about that, the issue is back now, but seems to be a bug in TK, not in Compiz. I'm trying this workaround now:
http://dreamlinuxforums.org/index.php?topic=170.0

In official Ubuntu bug tracker people throw this bug to nVidia driver:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amsn/+bug/190531

Let's try the workarounds, there's nothing more to do until someone confirm the bug as it's own. Probably kakaroto is the only one to say that without being guilty.
