I didn't know where to post this, but I just realized that while I have my forum profile settings correct for GMT -5:00 since I live in Toronto, my posts are  being date stamped with EST instead of EDT. The ****** US Government decided to change DST and then the ******* Canadian Government (or was it the ****** ****** Ontario Government) that decided to blindly follow (descriptive words omitted so as not to make a political statement as two of the 3 governments mentioned were bashed and one praised). This isn't a huge priority but any chance the forum will be updated for the new start/end of DST?
kakaroto, feel free to move this to another section if it is more appropriate there.

it's appropriate here... I don't think it's high priority.. anyways, in less than 2 weeks, it will get fixed since DST will be the same everywhere... maybe a phpBB update exists.. we want to update (maybe try phpbb3...) but when.. again.. when we get time to do it...

Yeah I figured. that is true it wont matter soon. I would guess there is an update. We can wait for the update. Unless the other Daniel on here, Daniel15, has some insight, he seems quite proficient with php stuff.

Switch to SMF Cheesy

I'm not too sure how the timezones are handled/stored in phpBB, phpBB's code scares me off (not sure if it's been improved in phpBB 3) Tongue

Is a transition from phpBB to SMF difficult? could all the data be moved over?

Haha, that's fine, I just said the SMF thing as a joke (because I know you like the forum as it is now) Tongue
Although when phpBB gets discontinued, you'll have to switch to either phpBB 3 or SMF Tongue

It's really easy, there's converters available (SMF 2.0 ones are somewhere, on the forum I think).

SMF 2.0 Beta 3 Public recently came out, it's a significant improvement from SMF 1.1 (and still way better than phpBB) Cheesy

Nice, I figured there would be, gotta love OSS sometimes, though other times it can suck, most of the time it's great!

I find myself continually looking for Free/OSS more and more often when I need a new app.
