hi. I download the new version "aMSN Installer for Tcl/Tk 8.5"

when I run it, this happens:

I installed ActiveTcl 8.5.0.0, shouldn't that be enough?

thanks in advance!

It looks like you are using Ubuntu (I'm a Windows user so not so sure which distro you have there), if you search the forums the issues with TkCximage and Tcl/tk 8.5 have been discussed and I think they have been solved. You might have multiple versions of tkCximage and/or Tcl/tk installed.
try this thread http://www.amsn-project.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=25821&highlight=tkcximage#25821
if not let us know and someone should be able to help out.

i just got this problem. it happens when you install transcriber. i fixed it by removing tcl8.3 and tcl8.4. but then you have to uninstall transcriber as well. but at least it works again. ^__^

wtf? why would transcriber affect aMSN ? it also uses tcl/tk but it shouldn't affect us.. especially not for TkCximage..
do you know what exactly happens ?

I think amsn still try to be launched with tcl/tk8.4

you may have to edit the file /usr/bin/amsn (may be in another path, depend of the installer)

should be something like that
Code:
exec /usr/local/tk/bin/wish8.5 $0 $@

(wish8.5 may be in another path, i don't use ActiveTcl 8.5.0.0)

edit: if you uninstall tcl8.4 and 8.3, the default tcl interpreter become tcl8.5 and that's why it's work
to my mind transcriber use tcl8.4 (so tcl8.4 is the default tcl-interpreter and amsn can't work)

(omg it's too difficult to write in english, sorry  :oops: )

edit2: oh by the way you have the error about TkCximage when you're using a bad version of tcl/tkv (launch amsn (compiled with 8.5) with tk8.4 etc...)

oh yeah, right, easier solution is to edit the first line of the 'amsn' script and  change 'wish' by 'wish8.5' or 'wish8.4' depending on which version you are using.

Hello guys,
I'm still having this kCximage module problem
I'm using
* wish8.4 (i've modified amsn file)
* tcl8.4
and the TkCximage is located under:
* /usr/share/tcl8.4/TkCximage/TkCximage.so

I followed the steps of svn, but still having the problem
does anybody have a work around for this thing?
