the event box is grey ? you mean the one at the bottom of the contact list ? it should be white! make sure you use the default skin and that it's not caused by the chameleon plugin. If that's not it, then provide a screenshot.

I can provide that image. Default skin, latest SVN, and all that goodness.

(I censored some email addresses)

I don't mind it being grey. I thought it always was, guess I just didn't pay attention to the shade of it..

Correct. Neither of those. I don't have any plugins that don't come with aMSN (in this case I am counting those that the updater fetched when I first got aMSN), although I did disable the Winks plugin.

damn, what is this, is it an epidemic!! Your plugin window is also all wrong, the background should be white (the left part).
I don't know what's going on, did you update to a new version of tcl/tk ? can you try moving your config dir to see if it fixes it ?

Hmm, I've never even seen anything about this tcl/tk on my computer before, so I'm fairly sure I haven't updated it.

I don't know where this config dir you speak of is either..

EDIT: My status log is grey as well, just like banana's.

Hey there, I just checked, and you are right, I got that too, hehe, it's an issue with the skinning, I did a binary search and found it was introduced in SVN revision 9037, a HUGE amount of changes were introduced for creating a better skinning system allowing for dark skins (thx to Nuitari from the forums). The only issue was that setting the background of text/listbox/etc.. to white was inside a 'if OnX11' instead of being a 'if not OnMac', so now I fixed it..
The problem was only appearing on Windows btw, since Unix (non mac) users are using X11 so it sets all the colors correctly.
The issue should be fixed in SVN revision 9094

I think the font size is the same as amsn's font size, so you can change that in preferences->appearance->change font
