Hi,

I'm using aMSN for Mac 0.97RC1.
My "problem" is, that i can't see the Personal-Status (I mean the Text next/under the Nickname of other Contacts. I'm not sure about the english word for that ) of users that are Offline. I've got friends which are using Windows and the Live Messenger. And they can see the Text even if the Contact is Offline. I don't think that that is a Bug, but i searched the FAQ, the Wiki and the Forums but but i found nothing about that (what surprises me). And i can't find the Option in the Preferences. :?:

btw: Thank you very very very very much for bringing the MSN world on Mac out of Stone Age Cheesy

hi,
Indeed, noone ever noticed/reported that. The problem is that WLM uses content-roaming to get that info from the servers, because it uses a newer protocol than amsn. amsn is now stuck on an older protocol which doesn't support this.
Consider amsn to have the functionalities of msn 7.5, not 8.1... (but we added offline messages from the new protocol, that's the only difference)

btw: lol, thx Smiley

Okay :? and Thank you for the fast reply Cheesy. I don't think that it's very important to see what they wrote, when they aren't Online, but that is the only thing i miss on aMSN in comparison to WLM. But indeed, aMSN is a great Messenger.

Is it planned to support the new protocol, or any further new ones, in the future?

ikary-kun, this is unrelated to this thread, please don't spam threads with unrelated questions.
Also, search the forums, it's already been answered, the answer is no, and the reasons are explained in other threads.

KKRT is maybe a little harsh...
New protocols won't be implemented in aMSN1...
We are planning to begin aMSN2 that will support them...

Couldn't an "ugly" workaround be that aMSN saves the latest PSM used and displays that when a User goes offline?
