hello I'd been loocking around but can't find this one,
1)is it possible to create a pixmap of body_box (n.1) that displays a texture or image. (the default box_body.png is 2*2 pixel if I put a bigger image instead it seams not to recognize it)
2) if not is there a way to make the back.png appear just behind the  contact list box (workaround using a box_body transparent) and at same time not appear in the log in and in the outer border of contact list  (n.2)
let me know!


ps. The skin I'm working at is almost ready, it's a murrina candy integration, I would like to show it to some skinner to have a feed back.

Really strange, the boxbody can have the size you want... But there is only one limitation : it is tiled...
Make sure you did the file carefully... Try some tests with a pattern and so on : there isn't any size limitations in the code for that

hy Phil,
so I tiled the image but no success, i'll keep tring changes, but maybe there is some setting to enable/desable in the settings.xml hhat I don't know about?

I look to all skins and I couldn't finde one that had at list a two color texture in the box_body.png so I guess it just pik one of the color present in box_body.png

in the picture below there is the back.png file I made (1) that shows on backgrownd. n.3 is what I get out of the tiled image box_body.png which is made of a similar file than back.png (white and a transparent gray) but it just shows the gray...
n.2 is backgrownd color chosen in settings.xml
so what I'm loocking for is getting the box_body loock like back.png and keep the default color (n.2)  not overlayed by the stripes... is it possible?

ok to make it simple, box_body.png can handle onli one color,  not multicolor testures or images, am I right?
(all images I see in skins backgrownd belong to back.png)

one more  :?:  can I use a animated gif in back.gif

Toky : I think the box_body is tiled on a contact, not on all the group. Look here for more info : http://www.amsn-project.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2628&highlight=alternate
about animated back.gif .. why ask ? it should be easy for you to try it then if it doesn't work say that it doesn't work, how can you make it work. try it and you'll know if it works (if it doesn't work, then it doesn't).

Make sure your box_left box_right and box_body have same height...

ok I did try in fact and what happened is that the gif showed in animation on log in, but in contact window remains still

the link you posted is just about what I was looking for.

ok last qestions...
1 so for animated gif in main window any chance ?(just work on 1th log in screen and on loading up screen)
2 which parameter decises the x distance from border of contact names (text)? (tryed almost all but couldn't find)
3 is this a bug or I messed up settings file badly, I started getting double contact image (I get the same also changing skin see picture) after changing settings.

Delete DualDisplay Plugin, now it's integrated in core

I'm almost there... one thing I tried in many ways but could not manage is to get the the cwtopback.svg  I made to display in the chat top bar, if I change skin to default skin it works but going back to the one I'm working on... nada.
I keep getting just the color chosen in the settings file.
Don't know why.
ok I was missing this from settings: <chat_top_pixmap>1</chat_top_pixmap>

ok skin is ready,
 I'll send it to the amsn skin section and see what happen
only thing I couldn't fix is displayng the menu_background.svg displayng as menu texture, I did a 32 * 32 svg picture, but it just doesn't display on menu... so do I have to activate something in the settings file to get it display or it concerns chameleon???

and also I placed the credit and licence files, but I need a feedback to know if evrything is ok... (it's the first time)
let me know if i's better to post a link for download or just send it to amsn skin section.

Hi Toky,
the skin looks nice, but for the screenshot, disable the "show DP in CL" otherwise we won't see your buddy icons.
About the menu backgrond, yes, it's only if chameleon is enabled and if it has the pixmapmenu option enabled.

Chameleon is enabled and pixmap is on, in fact it displays .png images but I couldn' t make it display the svg I made, don't know why... I'll keep tring.
I'll send  the skin tonight and see what happen, also to get feed back.
