On a Windows machine, I get to see my contacts' display pictures as well as my own display picture.

On a Linux machine (Xubuntu 7.04), I only can see my contacts' display pictures.

Both are using the latest version of SVN...

Not a complain, just feel that it's weird.  LOL

Preferences > Advanced > Appearance > Show only one DisplayPicture frame in chat windows (uncheck it)

or probably not using the SVN version in linux, make sure you don't update one directory and launch amsn from another directory (launch it with ./amsn to make sure you're launching the right one).
