Hey,

is there a way to add Chatsmileys straight from a directory? For each Account there is a Smiley Directory. If you go the "normal" way, that means you add Smileys in the chatwindow, amsn add the graphic to the users account smiley directory. If you copy a graphic straight in this directory, it will display in the directory, but not in the chatwindow.
Do anyone know why?

greetings

palotec

I guess because custom emoticons are configured in config.xml in your contact's directory. I'll have to manually copy that part to all the others contact's configuration files.

I vote for moving that part away from config.xml in another XML file, like it's already done with the adress book and the states.

yeah : exactly. Custom emoticons are defined in config.xml , along with their name and the text that they substitute.

what about the way Msn works...
you click add it already replaces the "shortcut key" with the one the other person used to create...

it really helps

my idea was always to have a "pack", like an "auto-add smileys" where you would specify a file/directory containing all the information needed... you could also export such packs...  but this was never done... and probably won't be done for now...
the idea of having the smileys in a separate XML file is indeed interesting.. I'll think about it and see how easy it would be to add..
Thanks!

@vivia> there was a patch in the sourceforge site for displaying the « shortcut key » of the person directly in the menu for steal the smiley but it's no longer on the site, what about it? i think it would be really practical.

@kakaroto> hum, a pack feature would be nice Smiley

reggaemanu : added to CVS version and the bug was closed. The patch needed a little fixing anyway.

I recommend you get the CVS version of aMSN. It is using an experimental version of MSNP12 so you may get errors (we are working with it for quite a long time, no known errors, but it hasn't been tested enough yet), but apart from this, it has tons of bugfixes Smiley

It was updated more than 10 days ago if I'm not wrong. You can check anyway. Smiley

Thanx for using cvs and reporting errors! Does it work correctly with MSNP12? If so... glad it does! SmileySmileySmiley

No, at the moment for MSNP12 I haven't seen any bugs, it's perfect Wink
And the personnal messages works very fine, (there's just some adjustements to do for the display...alignement with the nickname, small font, another color, don't underline the psm with the nickname, etc...) there's already a post about it, i know you're working on it ... (and on much things  great work, you (and kakaroto) are very very active since some weeks)
So, good continuation Smiley
The 0.96 release seems to being a great release, it's a very big step since 0.94 !

EDIT: i've update, everything works fine (profile link in the menu and mail icon) Smiley

i tryied for some days the new experimental transfer protocol, but sometimes i can't send file to people or receive, so i back to the "old way"

things are working whitout any trouble...
the only thing isn't working yet is my webcam (god damm... lol).

It works with GnomeMeeting but it doesn't suport VL4, only VL42
