Hi, having today come across this superb program, installed it via my Linux repository in Xandros v4. Unfortunately, it is version 0.94 rather than the latest - but well pleased with it!
On configuring and subsequently launching a few times to 'tweak' - was starting to get annoyed by the 'new update available window' that launches when the program does, so thought I'd go checkout the new update.
After finding the update v0.96, at the linksite was a autopackage file, .... Spent the best part of today trying to configure their "4 easy clicks to install" method
... didn't work....
Looked at the source code available - hadn't tried it before, but with the page of instructions - decided to give it a go! Now the Linux command terminal is not my 'forte' .. but with their simple "... configure, make & install" figured it would be ok.
Didn't work...
So deleted these files and searched again.... (not giving up is my middle name !! ) THIS TIME I found a debian package for the updated version (my Linux box runs on debian) so I duly downloaded the file and tried to install. Didn't work - told me my system needed newer dependancies ... So, off I went, googled for these newer dependancies and downloaded them! Several hours later, still failing to install (errors telling me I need these 3x dependancies and whichever one I chose to install, said it needed the other 2 first !!!) Now I've got a trashbin FULL of spare files and folders and still haven't got the updated version! Worse still, in anticipation, I uninstalled the old v0.94 ready for the upgrade! huh!
Ok... so not being down-hearted, then thought again about this... and here's the nub of my question...
Is ther any way to disable the pop-up 'new update available' window on launch? If there is, I'll happily stay with the old version - does what I want it to do for now and will be able to install it on the other machines on our network. Any help please (did see a post on this forum about "ADDING an update button in the plugins.tcl file" but that's NOT what I want!!
Many thanks for any advice
