I've been using a bash script I wrote for a while in order to update my aMSN through SVN and, having had a slow day, I've cleaned it up somewhat and made it possibly useful for others. Let me know if you like / dislike this, it can download & install amsn and amsn-extras and is easily customizable.
Sorry this is only in English (and badly spelled English at that) but if you have zenity installed any errors will be easily noticeable so you'll know what to concentrate on reading.
The script does very little direct access to files but installing the amsn-extras will edit the relevant folders in your ~/.amsn/ folder so you'd probably be best backing that up.Notice: The SVN version of aMSN is not intended for use by most people. If you can't get aMSN through SVN without this script then you're probably not advanced enough to use this potentially unstable software
You will need svn already installed and I also recommend having zenity installedthis file
, save it as amsn-svn.sh, and position it in the folder you want your amsn svn folders to be created.
Open up the file in a text editor and set the variables at the beginning to what you want. (I did a poor job explaining them so feel free to ask what to change here)
Save it, edit it's permissions so that it is executable and then run it (either click the icon and select Run In Terminal or start from a terminal)[/list]
I wouldn't advise being clever and setting up this script to use existing svn downloads as the method you used might be different and you may get a lot of strange errors. Just download the whole thing again (I think the sourceforge servers can take it
