Hi,

I think there are here a lot of people that wants to get the pwc driver working with AMSN correctly, not that you have to restart amsn every time.

So lets do the job ourself ...

* Who has an option on how and where to solve the problem (maybe with a terrible wrong hack, but that is is working).

* The pwc driver from http://www.saillard.org/linux/pwc/ is not updated for a while, but I think we can solve it by using a hack in amsn / webcamsn / capture and not the driver itself.

* the problem is that /dev/video0 is not closed on the end..

I have a little programming skills (most php/perl and so, but I can understand other languages as well and with examples also programm it) ? tips ? ..

Let solve this (little) bug together !

Hello..
the code is in amsn/utils/linux/capture/ It can either be in libng or in capture.c actually... I think it might be in libng.. the best solution to first : find where the problem comes from.. then fix it.. I don't know how that works but it would be usefull to see why the fd is not closed after we do a 'fclose' on it ?
maybe it fails for some reason... I have no workaround, no hack, no nothing and never heard of any...
glad though you took the initiative of working this out!
Good luck

Well do  what i did? And it seem to work ok.

download http://amsn.sourceforge.net/amsn_dev.tar.gz

extract and replace capture.c with this version above

http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/*checkout*/amsn/trunk/amsn/utils/linux/capture/capture.c?revision=5957&pathrev=6511

compile and run !

is there any chance to make that work with the new SVN version?
it only works with the 0.96 version at the moment!

I second that. I will have a look at the file and see if I can make head or tail of it.
