Something in 3D? Why not But it's not really needed, it's possible to make a 2D picture turning around an axis in its center, for example.
But let's wait for Gus opinion, it's HIS skin, and if you want to do your 3D and put it in your own skin, feel free

Hey Hey... lets not change the style here.... is not a 3D skin... if you want it, design it for yourselft One thing is to suggest... another to change the Skin idea.
Besides i have to much work to start to design a 3D Buddy logo (of course with Blender... that i never use it before...) And if i will do it, i will it do it right with that kind of App. and not playing with pixmap effects. I like to real work in what i am doing ... Maybe in a future. Time to the time my friends. My experience in Icons will increase with time.
About the bar, yes.. i tought that before... Maybe i will test.

just to clear it up a bit... it`s making it in 3d.. applying a animation, recording it, saving it as a gif and that`s it it`s not like a 3d render thing needs to be build in aMSN

about aMSN itself.. i got it running now and i must say i`m impressed with the progress.. last time i had it running under windows it was still a hell to have but than again it was just one day out for windows or so..

Overall i`m not happy at all with the aMSN performance.. i don`t know if it`s because of tcl or anything else but it can`t be my computer specs (AMD x64 3200 XP, Windows XP MCE, 2 GB memory, ATI X800 GTO and about 800GB hdd) first things that i saw was the oversized perfections window.. it barely fits in my screen (1280x1024) and if people sign on you see a small log on window appear on the lower right corner.. that think is appearing far from smooth!! and it`s not sliding away but just gone after a few seconds.. o well.. aMSN is a verry good idea and it`s the best msn client for Linux but it sure has to be alot better before i start using it in windows all the time maybe when i`m professional in c++ i might attempt to join the aMSN team if they still exist by than

anyway.. the idea is gread and it WORKS under linux but for windows it just has to be smoother and by that i don`t mean a licked design but if effects are being used it should go smooth and all the theme things should be in the default windows theme (yes i know there is a plugin for that also) and everything reacts kinda slow.. when those problems are fixed this msn client will be my no1

o than i say it in short again so that you do understand what i mean because WLMSN skin is the least of the problems!!
aMSN works to SLOW and therefore it`s just not good enough yet to replace WLMSN!! but it is the best linux msn client/clone.
it has nothing to do with the skin

for the skin itself.. i might give it a few edits when you release the final version i will atleast run the skin on amsn to see how it looks when the final is done though the current one looks verry promissing

THIS IS NOT the right place to post your complaints about aMSN itself. You said it yourself :

. If you would like to improve the skin of Gus with any idea, then it would be the right place.

If you have any idea to improve aMSN (and perhaps help to it rather than alway complain ), "Feedbacks & Suggestions" forum is made for you  :wink:

Here, aMSN isn't slow at all, perhaps something is wrong with your version. But it is not a structural default of aMSN, it is a default of your installation, don't blame aMSN for it !

What about Gus' skin, if you want to edit it by yourself, no problem, but no need to post it, many people changed some details of the skin they're using, and if they all post, sourceforge servers will explode
And if you want to made us a wonderful 3D skin as you seem able to do, just do it, but don't ask designers to change their skin from A to Z just to follow your desires

Now, nothing more about ANYTHING else than Emerald skin here, okay Mark ?

Just one thing: the <) and ASL smiley aren't from the same pack as others: they are coming from default skin when the others are from MSN-like skins (and I appreciate you let those MSN smileys anyway )

I see nothing wrong with the text position in the notify windows, I like it like that

PS: Another small thing: when there's no DP loaded for the contact, there's a blue buddy on a grey square, this square having a blue border.
Well, as this blue blue border is correctly displayed when you let you mouse two second on the contact, in the CL itselfs we only see the blue border on the left and down side of the square (as you see,this a really little bug lol )

Yeah... but remember still i have to design smiles icons.

About the DP.. yes.. i see that... but i dont know what is the problem... because the original size of the file (amsn.png and nopic.png) are perfect... in 96x96... i don't know why in DP is mixing the borders... because the empty place for that image is about 50x50... so my DP holder has that size... so i don't know... have to check it more.

Hola Gus!

First of all congratulations for this amazing skin, i like it very much and i am using it as my new "default".

While using it i have noticed something about the panel on the chatwindow where the [Para: <ninckname>] text is shown. The fact is that opening a new chatwindow has the same aspect as the one on the first thread page but when other tabs are opened they have a plain color look... is this working as intended? is this an amsn thing? only happens in my amsn?

Well as i am writting this ill tell you the only thing i miss from the default skin and is to identify the status of the users based on the font/background color (black, blue, green, red) of the panel refered before. It is not an important thing like that breaks  your desing but i suppose that saying what i think is a bit more usefull than only telling you how much i like your skin (and i like it very much   ).

jeje, don't worry, my English is not good either!

About the image you mention in the chatwindow (called cwtopback.png), i thinks is a amsn problem/bug that i am trying to figure out... And yes, i talk it about in the IRC... but well, no many people take care to give aMSN a good look as i am trying to do and help to that happen. So i am at my own most of the times... But i will try to fix it!

About the colors of the status of every users, yes... i tought about that... just i am trying to choose some colors to not have a bad mix of the scales related to the Skin... is why i didn't added it yet... just give me some time, always i have ideas

Well, that problem on the DP pics (more on amsn.png and nopic.png) now is solved!!
I used to draw a border in those images... but seems aMSN does not like it... is why showed a black border on the bottom left.
So, i've deleted that border
