I'm sorry, but none of us (aMSN devs) has any free time. We all moved along.
But if you want to write a patch and send it to me, I'll gladly review it and merge it.

aMSN isn't working anymore (neither some of the other unofficial MSN clients). This is caused by some recent changes in the protocol.
Some of the MSN clients managed to fix this. Sadly, we, the aMSN devs, don't have any spare time to fix it.

Answering your second question, no, we're not planing to release a new version of aMSN based on the Skype protocol.

Please don't ask twice the same thing. I'll reply you in the other topic.
6  Development / Important announcements / Forum is going into read-only mode on: September 08, 2014, 01:02:33 pm
Dear aMSN users,

you probably know already that Microsoft ended MSN support an year ago and left only China's servers running, which allowed us to keep using our favorite IM.
They were clear about their intentions: MSN would be killed completely at some point. And they finally did it. MSN is not accessible anymore.  Cry

That's why we, the aMSN team, have decided to switch this forum to read-only mode.
We want to preserve everything that has been discussed here for historical reasons.

If you need to contact us, for any reason, you'll still be able to. Use the PM option to send me any message and I'll reply as soon as possible.

Finally, thank you for supporting us and for being such an awesome community!
We don't regret a second of the time we spent working on this project.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I moved your topic because it's completely unrelated to aMSN/aMSN2; it belongs to offtopic category.

9  Development / Amsn development related issues / Re: Is there a way to create a new live/msn/wlm account ? on: June 12, 2014, 12:49:04 pm
You must be aware that Microsoft is shutting down all MSN related services, which includes MSN accounts. Existing MSN accounts will be migrated to Outlook/Skype, but no new accounts can be created (as they are shutting down all services).

Thank you for your feedback! We are all sorry that MSN (and thus aMSN) had to die, but we had great time while doing it. Cheesy

XMPP is not a MSN alternative. XMPP is a protocol. Messenger is a client.

Also, you can trust Messenger the same way to can trust Skype . Both services belong to Microsoft, both are private, both are closed source.

Hi, welcome to the forums Smiley
Please follow this tutorial which explains how to install aMSN skins .

One more thing! Next time open a new topic instead of hijacking an old one. Especially a half an year old one!

14  aMSN Support / General / Re: Is there a way to add Skype contact to aMSN? on: October 26, 2013, 08:54:34 pm
Sorry for the late reply!
No, there really isn't any solution. You're able to chat with some of your friends who are using Skype because they just linked they MSN account to Skype. Anyways, in a few months MSN will die and you'll be forced to use Skype (or just make all your friends move to something else Tongue)
15  Development / aMSN2 / Re: What is the percentage of amsn2 development? on: October 26, 2013, 08:52:46 pm
Life teached me to never say "never" (I'll never do Classic ASP --> got Classic ASP job  Undecided), but most probably 99.99% we're not going to re-write nor code from scratch any Skype client.  I'm sorry Sad
