How did you install aMSN? Maybe you used the Windows installer using Wine? If so, uninstall it and look at our wiki for information on how to install the SVN version on Linux.
It's Ubuntu. Look at the title font and the cursor over the window. Maybe he's using just a skin. If not, and excuse me, wtf using aMSN with wine?!

The problem is that Microsoft change small parts of the protocol. So aMSN becomes incompatible with some features. To fix this, aMSN developers does some changes in the program. These changes are in the SVN repository. There, you can see all changes in the time of this program. This changes are numbered, and the number of version that the issue is solved is in svn 12196. So, what to do now? Upgrade to the SVN version. http://www.amsn-project.net/wiki/SVN

The Community / Feedback and Suggestions / Submit aMSN to Apple Software Download
|

aMSN is the best MSN IM in OS X. Period. Only Emesene (now ported to Mac too) can compete with it, but aMSN still the best option. I am saying this because I tried ALL other alternatives (Adium, Microsoft Messenger, err hmm mercury ) and they cannot be compared with aMSN. So, look. Apple website has a download section for software. http://www.apple.com/downloads/. aMSN have to be there! Just create a Apple ID (I have one) and submit it here https://adcweb.apple.com/downloads/. A lot of people go there to download software. It has a quick access in Apple Menu -> Mac OS X Software What do you think?

That's because your port configuration or firewalls. And about Adium and Emesene, first they're programmed in Python, not .Net, and second Adium uses an old protocol version (it's based in Pidgin) and Emesene is having the same problem as aMSN. Maybe other people can help you, I can't, but those can be the causes.

O sea, poner: LANG=eu_ES.utf8 export LANG

It's the same problem with an Adobe plugin (I can't remember what). Read the Macintosh section and you'll read a lot users have the same problem. What did you install recently?

Hmmm just downgrade to an older version of aMSN .. OR! [sounds of thunder and dark music] .. or try compiling Tcl Tk 8.5 (only if you know how to do this).

Woops! Sorry I was very busy. Uh-oh. In some svn commits, I remember read that tcl 8.4 is not supported now. Leopard and Snow Leopard has 8.5 and 8.6 (Snow Leopard), but I don't know if Tiger have it. Download again aMSN from the website. Run it. If it runs and works: excelent. If it doesn't run, my theory was right and we should "patch" the version for support it. If only I can remember when and where I saw that ...
