1  aMSN Support / General / Re: Some contacts DP not showing in CL do appear in their Properties on: January 13, 2010, 10:44:43 pm
Still happening on up-to-date svn. I'd give you every log you want, just tell me which one and how to get it, please!

We're both using latest aMSN svn revision and default protocol. Is there any command I can give from amsn shell to give you more info?

A friend of mine is using a not-so-recommended isp (Fastweb): he's forced to use isp default settings, thus he must have the router they sent him which he cannot control, so he can't set port forwarding and other things like that. gssdp doesn't seem to be working in his case. We're both using svn and when he sets a display picture I can't see it in contacts list. It's like he's got no picture, but when I click on Properties and browse his pictures, I can see all of them and their respective date. I imagine this is a protocol issue but, since I can see his pictures in properties, he can send his pictures and I can certainly receive them. I don't remember him saying that WLM users can see his picture (he doesn't care either) but I was wondering if it's an aMSN known issue or not.

Yep, I think Italian is too important. Italia has a lot of users Smiley. So, if you want to start now, go to http://amsn.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/amsn/trunk/www/includes/languages/, download the "en" english folder. Save it as "it" (for Italian I think) and translate the two files.
Remember to change the tags <lang>en</lang> to <lang>it</lang> Tongue.
Then send the files (in the folder "it"), to the email for translations (see http://www.amsn-project.net/translations.php).

Good luck Cheesy

Thank you for sparing me some time browsing this topic! Tongue I'll begin working on it soon. I heard many Italians are switching to aMSN 0.98.1 from Emesene, but it still has a lot of users. Somehow, they believe Emesene and aMSN will merge in a single software in the future... but that's another story!

hey, the new website is up! and 0.98.1 is made official.. the new news items need to be translated too. (a new poll will be added soon too).
the amsn_translations.xml is not yet updated with the latest news items, I guess we need to write a script that dumps the database for a translation language...

Congratulations! Cheesy More than one year has passed since last update. The upgraded layout is great, too.
So, maybe I should be waiting for an update to amsn_translations.xml before translating.

That's cool, you finally did it! I could add an Italian translation too. Is there a little website translation howto such as "go here, download php source, send the file to johndoe"?
6  Development / Amsn development related issues / [rev 11710] Display pictures in CL are always shown on: October 18, 2009, 12:57:17 pm

No you didn't find a bug, what I changed some time ago was to actually fix a bug where the "Show Detailed contacts view" option would do absolutely nothing if you didn't have the "show DP in CL" option enabled. So make sure you go to the View menu and disable that option to go back to normal.
In my opinion, someone who enables that option should automatically have the "detailed" view no matter whether he enabled DPs in CL or not. that option should just override the other setting.

Ok, good to know that! Thank you!  Cheesy

Hello, everyone! I haven't upgraded aMSN for a week or two and today I noticed that aMSN always shows display pictures in contact list even if I unset "Show thumbnails of contacts Display Pictures in Contact List". I had this option already disabled, but when I restarted aMSN after upgrading from svn, they popped up in my CL. I also tried enabling thumbnails and disabling them again at no avail. Did I find a bug?
8  The Community / Skins / KDE OXYGEN SKIN ! on: October 06, 2009, 12:17:28 am
I bow before you! I've waited a very long time for a KDE skin! Bravissimo e grazie mille!  Cheesy
9  aMSN Support / Linux / ubuntu >> tray icons are not transparent on: October 06, 2009, 12:06:59 am
I don't think you should edit *.ico files, they're only for Windows. I don't experience this issue but I can say that the tray icons from the skins I use are not transparent, they just have a grey background, and it doesn't go back to traybar if plasma or kwin crashes... pretty bad!

It's a very interesting idea, congrats! But maybe it should look more like Kopete than WLM 2009...

I hope you enjoy it.

Greetings to you all!

Please, RE-UP!  Tongue

swer, try downloading the up-to-date version from svn:
Code:
svn co https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/amsn/trunk/amsn-extras/skins/Minimal/ Minimal

Great, thanks!  Cheesy
13  aMSN Support / Linux / install a skin on: September 01, 2009, 04:03:53 am
Nope. Probably there are some config files missing in the skin directory, so aMSN doesn't know it's a skin and won't read it.

As you can read in the FAQs:
Home Folder -> Library -> Application Support -> amsn .

Have you tried making a backup of the user preferences directory and see if it starts normally? If not, you can try upgrading aMSN to 0.98.
