31  aMSN Support / Linux / aMSN 10320: Internal server error on: July 25, 2008, 09:44:00 am
I'm getting the same error and behaviour.. as a matter of fact, i was about to publish the status log myself when i saw this post.

I'm getting it since some hours ago.

The strange issue is that pidgin connectsfine.

I guess something is changed in the servers, that has to do with something amsn implements but pidgin does not (msnp15/roaming etc..)

edit: Using msnp11, amsn connects fine.

Here is my status log (using msnp15):

32  aMSN Support / General / DP roaming works or not? on: July 18, 2008, 04:39:43 pm
lol, somehow i thought there was dp roaming Smiley never mind then.. i prefer the devs doing more work on amsn2 than implement dp roaming Q)
33  aMSN Support / General / DP roaming works or not? on: July 18, 2008, 08:05:57 am
I am using latest svn versions of amsn in both my desktop and my laptop.

The last change that i did to my Display Picture and personal message was from my laptop.

Later the same day, using the desktop, i can see that the DP is not changing to the new one, shouldn't it change?

Now i just have different DP in laptop and desktop, for several days after many log-ins in both.

I think some revisions back DP roaming worked, now it doesnt seem so
34  aMSN Support / Linux / How can I disable anti aliasing for aMSN under Ubuntu? on: July 10, 2008, 06:34:37 pm
You are very wrong about anti-aliasing not being usefull in linux yet, antialiasing exists for over 4+ years in every aspect of a modern linux system.
Of course you can fine-tune the 'smoothness' according to your needs.
And of course again, there is no decrease in system performance, at least not in systems built after 1998 Smiley

Can you please provide some screenshots to support your theory of non-antialiased good looking fonts look nicer that anti-aliased ones? I can't even imagine a modern operating system without antialiasing in fonts! You beeing a web-develepor is highly irrelevant by the way, a lot of us are, and use antialiased fonts.. In fact, almost everybode uses this kind of fonts. Installing msttcorefonts has nothing to do with it, you just have your win fonts, there are highly better ones for free ofcourse, but thats another story. I use msttcorefonts too.

I still can't understand why anybody would'nt want anti-aliased fonts. aMSN (using tcl8.4) was maybe the last application on earth without anti-aliased fonts in linux, except some ancient xpdf or something.. All your other apps in fact use antialiasing (gtk / kde uses it..)
35  aMSN Support / General / just installed amsn on ubuntu on: July 08, 2008, 05:54:07 pm
How did you install it?
What version of tcl do you have installed?
36  aMSN Support / Linux / How can I disable anti aliasing for aMSN under Ubuntu? on: July 08, 2008, 05:53:37 pm
why would you disable anti-aliasing? amsn is "ugly" WITHOUT antialiased fonts, not WITH them!
37  aMSN Support / Windows / Offline Message : Error xmlencode on: July 07, 2008, 11:21:11 pm
use sudo or run nautilus with gksudo (dangerous)
38  Development / Amsn development related issues / Autopackage Ubuntu 8.04 "Loading TkCxImage failed" on: July 03, 2008, 09:01:46 am
just issue this command (from a terminal)

sudo update-alternatives --config wish

then you will presented with a menu, and you have to choose wish8.5 instead wish8.4.
