Same problem - before I could get logged into aMSN by logging into Windows live mail page & then logg into MSN there on the left hand side & when logged in there I would logg into aMSN & it will work BUT NOW not even that works any more.

6  aMSN Support / Macintosh / Re: Webcam doesn't work on 0.98.4 on: January 16, 2011, 12:45:41 pm
I used a Mac G5 OS 10.5.8 with all the ports set up ie 6891 - 6900 plus 6901, 1863,5190 & 6890 - My aMSN worked perfectly. All my info on my Mac was saved on an external hardrive.

Now I have upgraded to an iMac with Mac OS 10.6.6 (Intel) & all my previous from my G4 was transfered to my iMac............ NOW my aMSN doesn't work. All the ports are still as they were before. PLEASE help

I've even down loaded the new Microsoft MSN that supports video & voice & that also doesnt work - NO WEBCAM function.
7  aMSN Support / Macintosh / Re: Date Stamps etc in chat window on: October 20, 2010, 12:21:46 pm

8  aMSN Support / Macintosh / Date Stamps etc in chat window on: October 07, 2010, 01:45:57 pm
In the past when chatting to someone our lines typed would be distinguished by the time & the person's name in front of the words typed. Now the latter has totally disappeared & only the lines typed by both persons appear. I've searched to see if its a plugin that I maybe deleted by accident but don't find anything of such nature. I've also selected the advanced preferences ie enable time stamps on chat windows but nothing happens.

PLEASE help - I want to restore the former status of time & name of the person typing the line in a discussion.

I'm using Mac OS 10.5.8 and aMSN 0.98.3

Another problem is also that in the past when a contact comes online a sound would alert me about it but that sound has also disappeared now. Only when the person ypes a msg to me a sound would alert me to his/her presence. Why would this be after all the alerts have been set in the preferences.

Many thanks

From today, for some reason or other, my contacts that are online don't appear in my 'Online list' although they can see me online & send me a msg in a chat window because I appear online to them.

Please advise why not

Many thanks

By then is there no way one can attach a screen shot of any enquiry??
14  aMSN Support / Macintosh / Re: WEBCAM; WHITE SCREEN! on: February 03, 2010, 10:02:05 am
You forwarded the whole public port range to only one private port so it doesn't work. Moreover, your forwarding begins with 6890 whereas it's 6891 but that's not a problem.

I did the following & my 'White Screen' problem is solved

                                        VIRTUAL CONFIGURATION

ID           Public Port - Start       Public Port - End         Private port     Port Type
1                    6890                         6890                      6890             TCP
2                    6891                         6891                      6891             TCP
3                    6892                         6892                      6892             TCP
4                    6893                         6893                      6893             TCP
5                    6894                         6894                      6894             TCP
6                    6895                         6895                      6895             TCP
7                    6896                         6896                      6896             TCP
8                    6897                         6897                      6897             TCP
9                    6898                         6898                      6898             TCP
10                  6899                         6899                      6899             TCP
11                  6900                         6900                      6900             TCP
12                  6901                         6901                      6901             TCP
13                  5190                         5190                      5190             TCP
14                  1863                         1863                      1863             TCP
15  aMSN Support / Macintosh / Re: WEBCAM; WHITE SCREEN! on: January 27, 2010, 04:51:42 pm
My router settings read as follows & the problem is still the same re the white window - PLEASE advise

                                        VIRTUAL CONFIGURATION

ID           Public Port - Start       Public Port - End         Private port     Port Type
1                    6890                         6901                      6890             TCP
2                    1863                         1863                      1863             TCP

@djp330 : This means only ONE port is forwarded, not the whole range from 6891 to 6900.

I also had to white screen problem when communicating with a PC. Did the port forwarding thing to 6900 & have no problem communicating with people who are on XP operating system on the PC. The problem comes with a person using the new Windows 7 operating system. Individually we can send or ask for webcam communication then he can see me or I can see him  - the problem comes when I see him on my desktop & then ask to send my webcam then he only sees a white screen. So when simultaneous viewing of webcan must occur he only sees a white screen while I can see him on my desktop. PLEASE advise - many thanks
btw with reference t above I did do the test & it says 'Your ports are well configured' & the test reports 'OK'
So could it be the ports problem is with the PC persons router that has to be forwarded to 6900
I wanted to upload the test result but see no facility here to upload it so u can see
