I know Mark... i am designer... but i don't want to give  a 3D look. If you want to change that login after my final release of this skin, do it... will be GNU/GPL Cheesy.
And please do not post off of this topic. Or will be very long thread and nothing to do with Skins.
And remember one thing.... "aMSN clone" does not mean to be the same as WLMSN is... but better (and of course, it is!) Smiley
I don't like to have the same WLMSN uggly style/design on my aMSN Wink

Of course is MY opinion.

o than i say it in short again so that you do understand what i mean because WLMSN skin is the least of the problems!!
aMSN works to SLOW and therefore it`s just not good enough yet to replace WLMSN!! but it is the best linux msn client/clone.
it has nothing to do with the skin

for the skin itself.. i might give it a few edits when you release the final version Smiley i will atleast run the skin on amsn to see how it looks when the final is done though the current one looks verry promissing Cheesy

just to clear it up a bit... it`s making it in 3d.. applying a animation, recording it, saving it as a gif and that`s it Smiley it`s not like a 3d render thing needs to be build in aMSN Smiley

about aMSN itself.. i got it running now and i must say i`m impressed with the progress.. last time i had it running under windows it was still a hell to have Tongue but than again it was just one day out for windows or so..

Overall i`m not happy at all with the aMSN performance.. i don`t know if it`s because of tcl or anything else but it can`t be my computer specs (AMD x64 3200 XP, Windows XP MCE, 2 GB memory, ATI X800 GTO and about 800GB hdd) first things that i saw was the oversized perfections window.. it barely fits in my screen (1280x1024) and if people sign on you see a small log on window appear on the lower right corner.. that think is appearing far from smooth!! and it`s not sliding away but just gone after a few seconds.. o well.. aMSN is a verry good idea and it`s the best msn client for Linux but it sure has to be alot better before i start using it in windows all the time Tongue maybe when i`m professional in c++ i might attempt to join the aMSN team if they still exist by than Tongue

anyway.. the idea is gread and it WORKS under linux but for windows it just has to be smoother and by that i don`t mean a licked design but if effects are being used it should go smooth and all the theme things should be in the default windows theme (yes i know there is a plugin for that also) and everything reacts kinda slow.. when those problems are fixed this msn client will be my no1 Cheesy

well finding the svn isn`t hard at all since it`s all stored on the SF SVN and compiling isn`t hard at all under linux!! but i`m using windows now.. besides if i did use linux i would still have the windows problem because i`m trying to find a decnet live messenger alternative and i believe aMSN can (or in the future) be the best live messenger alternative that is avalible.

In the trunk i downloaded there is a README and a INSTALL but no infor for a install under windows..
i know of a svn for windows that`s a .tar.gz archive and to get that working i will need to install the latest windows version and overwrite it with the content of that file.. but that`s just bypassing the problem in a dirty way and not the most recent revision (don`t know for sure but i think i`m safe to say that that file will proble never have the latest revision because the revisions get updated almost every day)

So i just want to compile it under windows.

all the other people that asked for it are probly lookin for the .tar.gz SVN for windows which i don`t need.

lol i did used TortoiseSVN (best SVN client avalible for windows) but it sure isn`t COMPILING Tongue

let me explain you what tortoise is Smiley you can see it a a graphical SVN interface. you can get revission from the net and look at the things that are changed or even see file differences but it won`t compile!!

But there is a aMSN version for windows so i assume compiling under windows is possible.. it`s just a mather of how.
Now don`t tell me that i need to use the version that`s compiled for windows because this topic is not about any suggestions to me which version i need to take. i just want to try out the latast SVN to help the aMSN team a bit if i find any bugs.

@snipe2004 exactly Smiley though just a rotating aMSN logo will do the job fine but than again.. in order to get a rotating thing you will have to model the icon in 3d to even be able to rotate it.

@GuS-Arg

i must say i`m verry impressed with your work so far Cheesy though the animation (posted somewhere on page 2) might need some smoothing.. so that you don`t get the impression that the animation starts all over.

And.. you have made some wonderfull mockups.. but are they possible to use in the current amsn?
anyway.. awsome job Cheesy and i will probly start using amsn on windows.. live messenger is getting to big for my taste.
