I cannot understand, why you release an aMSN without webcam support. My version 0.98.1 works very well with webcam after I have forwarded the right ports. Therefore I continue with that version until there will be a version with webcam support again.

Webcam DOES work on 0.98.3. However, Audio/Video Call has been removed.

ah, webcam does work? I thought it doesn't work, because I read that audio/video support has been dropped and I understood that video support means, you cannot use your webcam anymore. Thank you for this great answer, I am happy.

Is it also still possible to send voice files by clicking the mouse button?

No mention was made about voice clips being removed, so it still works (and I just tried it  Smiley)

that's nice.
But I am a newbie in Linux and don't know how to compile correctly. I use Ubuntu and they just offer 0.98.1 in their software centre. Therefore I will just wait with the update until Ubuntu offers a package installation of the new version.

How do we request to view just a webcam? Because a friend and I were trying the other day and it would just fail.

If you're using Ubuntu, you don't need to compile from the SVN, you can use the latest build on the PPA here.
If you're using Karmic, open a terminal:
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:amsn-daily/ppa
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install amsn
and you're done.

If your webcam is well-configured, just click the right buttons  Roll Eyes

thank you, Bocko.

Everything works very well, I have installed the new version. But how did you know what to type in the terminal? I think, it is difficult to know that.

Just followed some tutos about that and most of the time it's always the same commands. You can quickly get used to that.
