Hi all,

I used XP until a few weeks ago so I don't have any experience with Vista what so ever.

But it came to me that if I received files over aMSN, the files just disappeared. I discovered my win7 didn't let aMSN acces its own folders for writing. Got that solved by giving wish.exe admin-rights, but now I have to click another "yes" if I wanna start aMSN and most of all: it can't boot on startup -__-"

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to be able to receive files AND boot aMSN on windows startup?
(I didn't change much settings of Win7, almost all the settings are those you get with a clean install. So I assume it doesn't have anything to see with that)

Grtz,
Pieter 'gordijnhoofd' Reuse

PS: I use a 64bit version.

Hi Gordijnhoofd,

you can change the receive files directory using the preferences, other tab
to one for which you don't need admin-rights

as Win7 is similar to Vista, maybe this thread can help you, if you need the received files that 'disappeared'

My problems are the same as described in that topic indeed.

I'll try if saving my files to C:\Users\Pieter\amsn_received\ can solve anything.

Thx!

Owkay, that solved that problem indeed. Thx very much!

I also suffer from the problem aMSN uses 50% CPU (I have a dual core) sometimes when I receive files and almost all the time when I send files.
(it must have an infinite loop somewhere I guess)
Had that on XP and also on 7 now. But I hope this is a known problem as well.

Grtz
