Hi.

Now I use Snow Lepard and aMSN 0.98.3, but I can't use any kind of Japanese Input Methods like Kotoeri and ATOK in the chat window and my screen name.
I tried to change Input Methods to use in every kind of key binds (Command + Space is a standard way with Leopard), a space was inputed and Input Method didn't change.
I can only use latin characters.

But in the contact list, my buddys' username using Japanese characters can read them.

What can I do?
Does anyone help me?

Best regards.

This is surelly not an aMsn bug. aMsn supports Japanese, so, you should configure your OS. Also, try to copy&paste some text in japanesse to make sure that amsn does it. If amsn isn't able to do japanesse chars, please, post again in this same topic.

I'm sure I configured properly, and any other applications works fine like Adium, Firefox, Safari, Pages, OpenOffice.org and so on.
Yes, copy and paste works fine, but only aMSN doesn't input Japanese characters DIRECTLY.

You mean I always talk to the others in Japanese characters using copy and paste?

I said aMSN does have a problem to manage Japanese "Input Method".
It is not the same aMSN can display or paste the CJK characters.

Heya Kiralin7566, this issue is actually with Tcl/Tk (http://sourceforge.net/projects/tcl), I'm sure I pasted a bug with them about this about a year ago, but for the life of me I can't find the item. alexandernst is correct in that aMSN supports Unicode input/output, however this support is made possible using TclTk, and they sadly don't support direct input on Mac. Please post a bug report directly with Tcl/Tk and ask them to address this issue.

Thank you for explaining me, tomhennigan.
I clearly understand what's going on.

I'll try to report this bug to Tcl/Tk project team.
