Some friends on the other side using Windows Live Messenger have custom emotes. For example, one emote was trigered using d'ummy
Whenever they sent that custom emote aMSN crashed.
The problem was the apostrophe in the emote's name, once removed it worked fine and haven't had any problems since.

So this is more or less a bug report. Foreign character's a big no no. haha!

That is all. Peace out Smiley

It was the latest SNV version running on Mac OSX10.6.2
The emote was being sent from a user running the official Windows Live Messenger.

At first I thought it could just be my computer but I've reinstalled aMSN from scratch (removing plist files and application support files etc) and did a fresh install and it still occurred. So it may be a Mac and/or Snow Leopard problem.

Either that or my computer just straight up hates me XD

Ok, I just tried it with WLM 14.0.8089.726 against amsn svn 11914 and it didn't crashed.
Maybe it's only Mac OS X prob? Could you try to crash amsn with wlm against linux/windows machine with amsn?

I have Ubuntu installed in a VM. I'll see what I can do when I have some free time on my hands. Smiley
