Hi,

I am running 0.99b SVN 11739, but since a few weeks ago whenever I add a new contact, and they add me on their end when I begin to talk to them, I get a red cross on my contacts list indicating that they have not added me, when I know that they have.  I have deleted and re added the contact and vica versa on their end but i still get a red cross.

Is there any way I can manually remove the red cross on nicks I know have added me on their end.  And is this a fault?

Hi Coup,

from SVN 11730 there is an option to hide all these red crosses (also the correct ones)
this problem is a server issue, so we can't do anything about that

Hello Smiley. Yes there is a way. Get the lastes SVN. Then go to Preferences -> Advanced and disable "Show special icon for contacts that do not have you in their list". MSN server doesn't allow more this feature (my english is lol!)

It was talked here http://www.amsn-project.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7238

some people say the servers got fixed and they don't see the red cross anymore, the server update/bug/whatever they're doing seems to be getting fixed slowly, so either be patient, or listen to what @BW and @nicolunacba said.

Hello,

I m not able to get rid of these red crosses. But I don't understand what you all mean with SVN 11730. I did use Amsn on my laptop for quite some time now, and also on this computer under windows 7 it works correct. But on both computers I see the red crosses.
As far as I know I run the latest version it says Amsn 0.98.1 (10/19/2009) in the Dutch version because that is my main language.

Can anybody help me also with these stupid red crosses??

Hi JackyX,

aMSN 0.98.1 is the latest released version.
The SVN version is the development of aMSN; most of the time it works as stable as the released version or even better;
"The drawback is that the SVN version could be unstable and may not work..."
So if you want to try, here is the link on how to install it:

Hi,

I took a look but this is much to complicated for me. If I could read it in Dutch maybe I could do it but not this explenation.
But what does that have to do with those red crosses?

In short, the red crosses used to show if a user had deleted you. aMSN could know it because of a bug in microsoft's servers. But now the bug is corrected so aMSN shows them even if there is no reason to. The SVN version adds an option to delete those crosses.
