You can have a look at amsn's langes translation for more information :
timestamp is translated as :
timestamp Marca de tiempo
timestamps Activar hora en los mensajes

and for amsn-lang mailing list, it's a mailing list called 'amsn-lang' (amsn-lang AT lists.sourceforge.net) google translate says mailing list is "lista de correo"
and for 'tarball', it just means a .tar.gz file, you can translate it as "archive" or "package" or something like that...
I hope that helps!
Thanks! Smiley

hi nicolunacba. thanks for translation. but we cannot reach it this way(by clicking http://justseewhatcanewdo.99k.org/public/es.php). please archive it or just change name es.ph_ something like that. There is also an xml file on this link aMSN site default language pack(included en.php) . If you have enough time please look at that.

I was thinking something important. I was using chars like "ñ" or "á", "é", "í", "ó" and "ú", but can PHP parse it? Will I replace, for example, the ñ for ñ ñ   or ñ ?

Now I am translating the news. I only translated 1 but all the info about plugins and skins are ready. I hope to finish it before Christmas, err I mean Saturday

you can directly use your characters. i add a read me file into en.tar.gz you can follow it. the key is you have to save your file with UTF8 character encoding.

Hopefully today, but I can't guarantee I'll have enough time to finish putting it online today... you can take a few more days, it doesn't matter if some things are untranslated for the first couple of days anyways!

hey, the website is now ready!
You can check it out, test it, and make sure *everything* is correct and working :
http://amsn-project.net/new-www/

@nicolunacba: we still need the es.php file (but rename the extension, otherwise your server executes it and we can't see its content)
@sabit_ertan: it looks like the dates for the news are not translated for turkish...
Also, I noticed that in the download.php page, the date of the svn tarball is bad, in french it says '(Capture SVN du Le 4 novembre 2009 @ 02:01:08)' which is like saying "SVN capture of the The 4th of November", first there's the upper case 'Le' but also the 'du' breaks it, in french, you can't say "of the" as "de le", when "le" follows "de", it becomes "du", so the translation is correct, but there's the additional "Le" from the date.. it looks like the date format was designed specifically for the news, not for that kind of date...
Also Sabit, the translation for the news in turkish is not correct, the last news item doesn't have any newlines.. the one before doesn't seem to have spaces between the text and the links in it.. make sure the formatting is correct!

That's all I've noticed so far.

p.s.: the website shows only 3 news items, so there's no need to translate old news, especially considering that once the new website is up, we'll post a news item about the multilanguage site, and then one about the 0.98.1 release... so only the last news item needs to be translated.

Hi, I'm still here if you need help with Spanish translation.
Thank you sabit ertan, kakaroto and nicolunacba for your work.

if you could check nicolunacba's tranlation we would appriciate .

it looks like the dates for the news are not translated for turkish...

it is server-side problem. you have to add language-base-tr to your server.
For date in SVN explanation we can add new variable in strftime function and can add new definition to xx.php

Also Sabit, the translation for the news in turkish is not correct, the last news item doesn't have any newlines.. the one before doesn't seem to have spaces between the text and the links in it.. make sure the formatting is correct!

Thanks for attention. i will complete translation with right format today.
and if you add new news we can add them into translation.

alright! It wasn't easy but I added the spanish translation!
thanks nicolunacba.. but it was quite annoying.. I had a hard time figuring out the encoding of es.php but then I found out it was "Mac OS Roman", and then I used the 'iconv' command to transform it into utf-8, so yeay! I also added teh xml into the database, which was also quite annoying because :
1 - you had a few '&quot' instead of '"' (missing ';' caused the xml to be invalid)
2 - you had a lot of '<lang>es<lang>' instead of '<lang>es</lang>' (tag mismatch) which caused the xml to be invalid a hundred times
3 - you had everything use 'trans_type' in the XML instead of 'type' which made the database invalid...
I suppose the original XML you worked with had some of these issues (especially trans_type).
So anyways, it's now updated and spanish seems to be working pretty good!

@sabit_ertan: thanks, I couldn't find a language-base-tr in the debian repository, but then I figured it out, just installing the turkish (and spanish) locale fixed it : dpkg-reconfigure locales Smiley

So now the only thing remaining is :
1 - fix the translations (spanish too!) because the news format is wrong (missing newlines, text and links glued together)
2 - Add a new date format to differenciate between the news date and the svn tarball date.

Hi guys,
I'm gonna review my french translation cause there are some mistakes and some things pretty ... ugly ^^
I'll also translate the news and plugins if i have the time.
For the date format, i propose for the french translation to put "3 Août 2008" for example, i mean to remove that useless and ugly  "Le" (it'll also solve the tarball date issue by the way).
I think i said everything i had to say ...

Excellent job sabit_eran, kakaroto, nicolunacba and you guys !

@nicolunacba : are you sure your translation is correct in all spanish  dialects ? I mean are you sure you didn't put any word or anything specific to Argentina ? I'm not a spanish expert at ALL, just to make sure, it's a common mistake for south america spanish speakers (i have a classmate from Paraguay who always does a LOT of mistakes in spanish that's why i ask xD)

@Kakaroto : met le français avant l'espagnol  dans la liste des langues

@arantes: I tried to make it in "neutro" spanish, using primary dialects like Chile or Mexico. Maybe, this is an Latinamerican Spanish. But, for example, in Argentina we use the you as "vos" and not "tu". I used "tu". Also, in Argentina and others LA countries we say "You Can" as "Podés", with the second person as "tu" it's "Tu puedes" o "Puedes". I used "Puedes".
And It's not a common mistake from south america ¬¬". Spain doesn't have the original or neutral spanish, so they make mistakes too. I will not going to say "Vosotros podéis", It's more popular and easy say "Ustedes pueden" or "Pueden".
In that case, in aMSN forum I should put: "¿Qué característica QUERÉS en el aMSN?" or when I say "Para la lista completa, ve a la página de características. ¡Puedes obtener más mediante plugins, o también cambiar totalmente su apariencia con skins!" instead, in Argentinian, I will say "Para la lista completa, andá a a la parte de las características. ¡Podés conseguir más con los plugin, o podés también cambiar toda su apariencia con los skins!"
Sorry about my character now, but how we speak different South American countries, and Spain saying us we speak wrong, is the main reason for discrimination in the Internet. I tryed to do a good work, to prevent this.
