Hello,

At first, thank you very much for the time you take to this software !!!

I'm using the svn version (updated each time i'm launching the software), on a windows xp sp3 computer.
I have from one or two weeks some amsn crashes during the execution of the program.
Not an amsn error message, but the windows window saying Amsn crashing... Each time i launch again the program and the problem was "solved".

Today, with the 11594 version, I crash on all the program execution.
-> When I launch the programm and let it connecting to my msn account :

I have the dump file made by windows if you need it Smiley

-> I launched again the program, cancel the connection to my msn account, launch the status & debug windows and then connect to the msn network.
The programm crash again.

Someone have one idea of the reason of the crash ?

Don't hesitate to ask if you need more files or informations :-)
Regards,
Anael

Hello,

No one have any idea
I uninstall - reinstall amsn once again, and update the script to the latest svn version.
One new error message appears :

I have import my old gaim logs (converted in amsn format), could that make a problem?
I have the impress that amsn is connecting successfully to msn network, synchronize the contacts list, and then... ?
I sort my contacts by history size, is it a problem with a log file?

Good week-end,
Anael

Hi,
no, sorry, no idea.. i have no reference on what could be causing this.. maybe the tcl/tk version you use has a bug, so could you try to get the latest release (0.98, not announced yet), only available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/amsn/files/ try with the 8.5 and 8.4 releases (no need to update to SVN for now, just try with the official release directly) and see if it still crashes..
yes it does login but for some reason it crashes... and no, log files has nothing to do with this..
(IF it still crashes, could you try to delete the file utils/farsight/tcl_Farsight.dll and try again and see if it fixes it? )

Hello kakaroto,

Thank you for your message ;-)

So, I began by a full remove of the SVN version of amsn.
Then  I install the tcl84 version, launch it -> crash. I remove the dll -> crash.
Then I fully removed the tcl84 version, install the tcl85, launch -> crash, remove dll -> crash.
After that I re-install the svn version. I launch it -> crash. I removed the dll -> this time my contact list appears, I see that contacts are online Cheesy
But... the software crash again... no error message from amsn or windows... all the amsn windows closed. The traybar icon was always present, but closed too when I point it with my mouse. A pure & perfect crash

I try again to relaunch (the same version of) amsn, and this time my contact list doesn't appears, but the windows error message appears (but no amsn error message)... so the same problem as the beginning.

Can I make something to test the error cause  :?:
Good WE Wink

well.. the file in SVN didn't change, so... I don't know why it works now!
anyways, one question though, is it by any chance that you connect using a proxy or HTTP gateway ?
