Code:
Error in startup script: unknown color name "white"
    (processing "-background" option)
    invoked from within
"text $window.info -background white -width 60 -height 30 -wrap word  -yscrollcommand "$window.ys set""
    (procedure "::pluginslog::draw" line 10)
    invoked from within
"::pluginslog::draw"
    invoked from within
"if { $initialize_amsn == 1 } {
     ::pluginslog::draw
}"
    (file "pluginslog.tcl" line 210)
    invoked from within
"source pluginslog.tcl"
    ("uplevel" body line 27)
    invoked from within
"uplevel \#0 {

        # amsncore.tcl is already loaded but we'll re-source it here in case we manually do reload_files
        source amsncore.tcl
        source audio.tc..."
    (procedure "reload_files" line 2)
    invoked from within
"reload_files"
    (file "/usr/bin/amsn" line 250)

I have reinstalled the amsn but it doesnt change anything.. Im still getting that error.

the answer is in the FAQ (for color black). Your XOrg configuration is corrupt or missing some file.

Well, I have the same problem .. but only when I try to open aMSN when connected through FreeNX. When physicaly behind the keyboard all works well.

In an other thread one was pointed to FAQ where it stated that there was an error with rgb.txt but that file is not present at my system and I can only find 1 xorg.conf file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) which is completely empty  :shock:

I hate to migrate to an other client, so any help on this issue would be appreciated  :wink:

Running aMSN 0.97.2 on Ubuntu 9.04 (clean install)

Hi, welcome to the forums.. obviously the 'X' implementation of FreeNX is missing something, I suggest you ask them what has to be done to fix this issue.. point them here and to the FAQ and I'm sure they'll understand the issue... either you need to configure FreeNX correctly, or they need to fix it from their side somehow...
Hope that helps!

Submitted a bug to freenx server.  https://bugs.launchpad.net/freenx-server/+bug/393701

Hopefully it will get us started in evaluating the problem.

The bug for FreeNX has been opened at:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/freenx-server/+bug/393701

The problem is usually an issue with a missing rgb.txt file.  On Jaunty this file no longer exists, but it is needed by nxagent in FreeNX and amsn.
