Hi! I miss a plugin long time ago, that accepts bash commands with autorefresh (e.g every minute) and then pastes the terminal echo into personal message. For example, on valknut direct connect client, and on irc clients, np scripts goes like these: http://wxdcgui.sourceforge.net/now-playing.html

That means if I say /sh cat /proc/sysload, then it writes its echo (0.xx 0.xx 0.xx 5/317 29736)

Now as a first step, it would be even easy, if the personal message would be just an echo refreshed every minute.

As the second step (the real plugin idea is this), I think, that the best and most punctual status for me personally would be shown, if my status changed to away if last mins system load is under 0.10 (first number), and if my status changed to busy, if system load would be over 1.00. Perhaps these numbers would be changeable, these settings would almost only work well on MY DE and CPU.)

Hope I could really help on the way of two geek plugins.)

Hi,
nice idea for the plugins.. you can probably create those plugins really easily.. there are many tutorials on the wiki (amsn-project.net/wiki search for plugins or plugin or developer and for 'tutorial')
you'll see, it's really easy..
HOWEVER, do not make the plugin update every second.. it already takes a few seconds (maybe 5.. 10seconds) for your contacts to see your updated status message.. so make it update once per minute maybe...
good luck!

If you can program your old VCR, you can do ANYTHING! Tongue
It's a nice idea, by the way. It's one of the plugins I'm going to use everyday (isn't this enough to make you try developing it?! Cheesy)!

Well, I may try but I don't think that's so hard for somone who wrote plugins before, and knows the issues. If noone writes, I'll start to read the f-word manuals.)

I've wrote a plugin which can do it... (less the auto refresh part.... for now... )
Please find it at http://rapidshare.com/files/311632893/runit.zip.html .

This is in the plugin description:

RunIT runs shell commands when the message starts with /sh and pastes the command return text into the chat. If message starts with /msh, then the returned text will be pasted to the Personal Message.
