Hello, i´m trying to make some changes in my amsn skin, and i encountered a problem i can't resolve. I'm trying to change the background of the part close to the "my status image", where apears my name and my state. I also want to change the background of the part where apears "no new messages". My idea is to put a texture (the same i have on back.png)
My question is: Is it possible? what is the file i have to modify?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english.

i don't know about the latest SVN release, but as far as the official release goes, there is absolutely no way to change the mystatus background.

It can be quite a pain, there could be some really interesting work any of us skin developers could do with the ability to modify that. Unfortunately it is not so. The only way to work with it is find a mystatus background color that suits and make the colorbar mend the contact list background to the solid color.

It's a slight gimp, but what can you do =P

yeah, you can't put a bg image on the mystatus part because it would need a rewrite to add support for that... the 'no new messages' is called the colorbar, and you can put the image you want there...
you could make your background slowly fade into a solid color and use that as a background color for the mystatus part.
thx dyzzi for a good answer Smiley

Will this be possible in aMSN2? Or even better preferably, similar behaviour to WLM-9?

EDIT:
Found a demo video of the new status area behaviour (just to be clear): http://www.mess.be/_inews/news-archive-9-11-2008.htm
