hi.

I used to use aMSN 0.97.2 on my old ubuntu installation(32bit), but now I upgraded to ubuntu 8.04 64bit edition.

When I try to install the package, the following happens:
Code:
autopackage for "AMSN MSN client"

The installation of this software requires some additional support
code to be installed.

A] If the support code is found in a local directory, it will be used.
The file containing the support code will be called:

      "autopackage.tar.bz2"

 or

B] If there is an active Internet connection, the support code will be
   downloaded from:

Proxy users should ensure the http_proxy environment variable is
set, otherwise the download may fail.

Selection B --> OK to download and install support code now? (Y/n): y

The fix has been backported.
Look at this changelog for example: http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/universe/a/amsn/amsn_0.97+final-0ubuntu5.1/changelog

you have to have enabled the  hardy-proposed and hardy-backports repositories to get all the new stuff released after hardy was released.

But hen again, ubuntu intrepid is just around the corner (~ a month to be released) Smiley
